According to IRS Publication 4012, the QBI deduction limitations begin to phase in when taxable income before the QBI deduction exceeds $394,600 for married filing jointly returns and $197,300 for all other filing statuses. Under P.L. 119-21 (the OBBBA), the 20% QBI deduction has been made permanent for qualified active trades or businesses, and these thresholds may be further adjusted for inflation (Publication 334).
